Spectacular fall foliage, anyone?
October is rollerski month for sure. And this October has been beautiful with great rollerskiing conditions. Spectacular weather and vibrant Adirondack foliage make Peru and the North Country the best rollerski destination on Earth. The Peru Nordiques celebrate the season with a plethora of Rollerski race events:
Great conditions for the ANGEL OF DEATH
Peru Nordic’s Jim “Harvester of Sorrow” Kobak and Chris “Hand of Doom” Rose dueled to the closest finish in ANGEL of DEATH race history. Atop the Hill of Death in Peru, the duo crossed the line in a virtual tie after a desperate sprint finish. After much deliberation, the race jury awarded the victory to Kobak by a toenail.
Frisbee Golf on rollerskis… an essential part of skill-building and training for the upcoming VHCS season.
Rose redeemed himself with an impressive Carnival of Sins Rollerski Carnival victory, holding off Mike “Administrator of Fear” White and legions of Peru Nordiques on the Tritone Race Course at Point Au Roche… As for Rose, that dude can do it all… rollerski, agility course, frisbee golf and dice rolling (all the essential XC Skiing skills!)
Getting ready to SUFFER!!!
These races have lead up to the culminating event of the Rollerski Armageddon season, The annual Prospect Mt. SUFFERFEST up Prospect Mt in Lake George. This event is scheduled for 11 am on Sunday Nov 1. (assuming the road is closed… it should be)
