FIGHT on the Fourth: Rose Declares Independence from the Pack.

Rose edges Moffet to win the Mini-Maiden… FIGHT on the Fourth… U! S! A!!!

It was the shot heard ’round the world… Chris Rose fired when he saw the whites of his opponents’ eyes and won the Mini Maiden Triathlon, the first foray in the FIGHT (F’n Intense Good Hard Training) Series and the premier tune-up for the Iron Maiden Triathlon.

It is your patriotic duty to Ski and Destroy, just like our forefathers spelled out in the Constitution.

Rose stayed with the lead pack during the run leg, but broke free late in the bike, and attacked hard on the Rollerski leg to win the day.  Tom Moffet hung tough with Rose for most of the bike leg, but couldn’t maintain the high tempo on the Rollerski and settled for the Silver Medal.  Jim Kobak was dropped early in the Run, and lost even more time on the bike, but salvaged a good Rollerski leg to win the Bronze.

Rose dedicated the win to Thomas Jefferson, the “Bjorn Dahlie” of Presidents!

Podium Results:  (Run/Bike/Roll)

Gold: Rose (7:50+28:30+18:50=55:10)
Silver: Moffett (7:50+28:33+22:17= 58:40)
