It’s almost September, VHCS Points Season ready to kick off… Who will be the 2014 Viking Helmet Champion?

The VHCS season officially kicks off on September 1st.  Peru Nordiques can start earning VHCS Points for the preseason period by joining NYSSRA Nordic before September 1st.

Can Kobak repeat?

Can Jim Kobak repeat as Viking Helmet Champ?  Will Chris Rose earn his record 5th Viking Helmet?  Will Jon Santor get back to the top of the heap?  Will someone else wrestle the Viking Helmet away from Kobak/Rose/Santor????  What we do know is that the Viking Helmet Season starts next week.   And for the first time, pre-season rollerski races will be included in the VHCS overall points chase.

Snow is on the way, time to get ready for the 2013-14 VHCS Season

This year the VHCS Season will be divided into 5 “periods.”   At the end of each period, skiers will be awarded VHCS rating points based on their performance during that period.  At the end of the season, the skier with the most VHCS points will be awarded the title of Viking Helmet Champion!

The complete set of rules and the highly complex VHCS Supercomputer algorithm is available at this link.
