The 6th horseman.
With the Mayan Apocalypse only a few short weeks away, members of the Peru Nordic Masters gathered at Point Au Roche to commemorate the impact that their European ancestors have had on the New World. It was a great way to celebrate Columbus Day, Leif Erikson Day and Canadian Thanksgiving all in one glorious rollerski event.
The Conquest of the Americas race had skiers tangle over 2 laps of the PAR Tritone Course. In between laps, skiers had to spread some European good will over the New World in the form of a frisbee golf hole. Skiers were on running time, and each throw added 20 seconds to their time. Chris “Juan Ponce de Leon” Rose was the most efficient, spreading Religious Intolerance quickly and decisively Jim “Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada” Kobak effectively spread invasive species. Tom “Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca” Moffett struggled, but managed to infest the new world with many different European diseases. All of this was watched with disgust by Stan “Atahualpa” Hatch as the Point Au Roche paradise was pillaged and ripped apart by some sick rollerski racing.
Racing continues each Tuesday at PAR with the TERRORSTORM!!! 5:30 Pm.
