The Peru Nordic Masters Masters, an annual tradition, is set to take place this Sunday. The single day, two-stage event has competitors hit the pavement in the morning, then the links in the afternoon. Skiers earn points during each stage in order to determine the overall winner of the Peru Nordic Masters Masters Denim Jacket.
The morning rollerski event starts with an easy roll out from Kobaken Open Air Arena in Peru. Skiers will start at the intersection of River rd and Calkins Rd, ski a 7 km mass start race up Big Hill Rd and finishing in the shadow of Mark Sanchez Mountain. Skiers will earn points based on various on-course preems and on their finish.
First to the end of the Double Pole Zone.. 3 points, 2nd 2 points, 3rd 1 point
First to the top of Big Hill Rd… 5 points, 2nd 3 points, 3rd 1 points
Finish: First place 10 points, 2nd 8 points, 3rd 7 points, 4th 6, 5th 5, 6th 4, etc…
In the afternoon, competitors will head to Willsboro Golf Course and earn more points on the links..

any drive landing in the fairway… 1 point
Birdies… 3 points
Eagles… 4 points
Hole-in-one… 10,000 points
Fewest balls lost… 1 point
individual hole bonuses:
1st hole, longest drive… 1 point
2nd hole, closest to the pin… 1 point
3rd hole, longest drive with putter… 1 point
4th hole, fewest putts… 1 point
5th hole, first on the green… 1 point
6th hole, fewest puts with driver using opposite hand… 1 point
7th hole, longest Happy Gilmore drive… 1 point
8th hole, fewest strokes to the green using only a 9 iron… 1 point
9th hole, closest to the pin… 1 point
