Rose Captures Mini Maiden!

Rose Crosses the line...

Peru Nordic’s Chris Rose won the annual Iron Maiden Triathlon preview.  Joining Rose on the “Mini Maiden” podium were Jim Kobak and Saratoga Biathlon’s Tom “Machine Gun” Moffett.

Moffett suffers on the rollerski leg

The Mini Maiden toured Peru, featuring a 1.3 mile run, a 8.2 mile bike and a 2.5 mile uphill rollerski.  Moffett led the run leg, cruising into Kobaken OpenAir Arena in just over 8 minutes.  Rose attacked on the bike leg, pulling away from the field on the upper reaches of River Road.  Looking like he had been dropped early, Kobak rallied, digging deep into his suitcase of courage, to reel in Moffett and attack hard at the top of the Reservoir Road climb.  Rose was easily first out of the Rollerski transition and cruised to victory.  Kobak held off Moffett up the Mannix Road climb for the silver medal.  With the victory, Rose now has a 75%  chance of winning the actual full Iron Maiden… time will tell…
