Rose can’t break Santor’s Streak

Chris Rose prematurely celebrates what was thought to be a stage victory

Defending champ, Chris Rose thought he had another Tour Stage victory under his belt, when the young phenom, Jon Santor, reached up and snatched victory from his grasp!  Santor paced the field in the 4 km classic stage of the Tour to capture his second victory in as many days.  Santor still sits atop the TdS leaderboard with a comfortable 10 point spread over the field, including Rose who is caught in a four-skier logjam for third place.

Santor controls his destiny... but beware the GOAT!

In a fitting tribute to Dio’s “Holy Diver,” Amanda Zullo‘s tumble on a MVH descent cost her precious points in the overall standings and allowed Janet Findlay to leapfrog into second place overall.

Classic Race action in the TDS

All will change tomorrow, when skiers climb up to the GOAT during the third stage.  Race organizers have moved the start up to 9:30 AM at the MVH Lodge in order to beat the forecast of warm temperatures, and to allow racers to get a head start on New Years’ Eve Precovery celebrations.

Racers hope to pick up some ground on Santor during tomorrow's "Race to the GOAT"
