The annual Peru Nordic Masters Carnival of Sins Rollerski Festival kicks of at 11 am on Saturday at Kobaken OpenAir Arena in Peru, NY. The event features two races around the 10 km “Big Sig Sin” course, a loop that features the murderous climb up Big Hill Road. Skiers go off in classic technique at 11 am. Then, at roughly 12:15 ish, they race again in freestyle technique. Chances are good that nutritious Rulfs donuts will be available for competitors at the aid station, and that the Mitten of Might will whip up a hearty vegetarian dish for the post-race lunch.
A fairly large contingent of NYSSRA stars are scheduled to be on hand, including Metal Meltdown champion Tom Moffett, Angel of Death Champ, Doug Diehl, Rutland Uphill Champ, Jim Kobak and last year’s Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Rollerski Armageddon Overall Champion, Chris Rose. Also expected to challenge for the Carnival of Sins Championship are the likes of Jon Santor, Bob Maswick, David Kvam, Ed Lis, Randy Wint and Matt Piper. This event is a fantastic tune-up for the annual SUFFERFEST on Nov. 6. There is still time to add your name to the startlist…. Register online today
