Catch the Olympic Fever: Peru in Vancouver!

The Olympics are ON! and Peru Nordic is excited to see some great Nordic skiing events.  Especially exciting is seeing all of the athletes who have raced against members of Peru Nordic in ski races.  We are excited to see athletes like Lowell Bailey, who absolutely crushed the Harry Eldridge field when he skied for UVM, or Bill Demong who pounded many of us at a NYSEF season opener not too long ago, and Todd Lodwick who displaced many of us off of the Masters’ podium at this past fall’s “climb to the castle” rollerski race.

Of course, Peru Nordic has a soft spot for Peru’s first Olympic Cross Country Skier, Roberto Carcelen.  Roberto skied against Jim Kobak in the M2 category at the Masters World Cup in 2008.  Let’s just say that Roberto was not the fastest guy from a place called Peru at that event.  Since that time, Roberto has been dedicating himself to being the best xc skier from South America, and Peru Nordic has adopted him as one of our own.

  1. We all raced against an Olympic cross country skier back in January at the Queensbury ESG/JOQ – Tucker Murphy from Bermuda who raced the 15 km in Vancouver.
