Jason “Willbury of Woe” Fiegl used a trademark downhill attack to capture the second Labor of the SLOP FEST series. Fiegl let Jim “Harvester of Sorrow” Kobak drag him up to the summit of Rattlesnake in a blistering time just under 16 minutes, then hammered the downhill portion, gaining almost a minute on his closest bipedal rival. Fiegl was sporting the latest in Patch Sprint gear, a single gaiter on his left leg, “…it really allowed me to gain some time, I just kept to the right side of the trail.” Fiegl was obviously also inspired by his canine training partner, Zoe “Quill-eater of Queasyness” Fiegl who made her SLOP FEST debut. The Fiegls and Kobak just out-paced Chris “Hand of Doom” Rose, who managed to keep both running shoes on in spite of the messy Rattlesnake approach quagmire.
Tom “-my Gun” Moffett battled once again with Jerry “Boss of Brutality” Ross, and they traded positions many times during the race. Moffet made a daring move on the steep portion of the descent and managed to edge Ross at the line and finish with the highest point total on the day.
