As per Peru Nordic tradition, the defending Peru National Champion has announced details for the 2009 National Championship Race.  Chris Rose officially opened the National Championships at Mount Van Hoevenberg.  Citing the recent warm snap, Rose quipped, “you better get this race in while you can… the HO is going fast!!!!”  This year’s race is freestyle and starts at the corner of the NYSEF building.  It goes up the mini-loop to the mini-stadium and then travels up the Innerloopen trail.  After careening down East Hill, skiers go over the bridge and take flatlander extension out past the picnic tables.  Skiers turn left on Spruce, then right on Campground before finishing at the Gauntlet Stadium finish line (bobcat trail sign).

Chris Rose, Jim Kobak and Bob Maswick have officially recorded their times.  If you wish to participate in the Peru National Championships, ski the above course by 4 pm Sunday, record your time and send it to Perunordic@yahoo.com
