With two solid laps, and a uncanny prediction, Bob Maswick captured his first Superbowl of Skiing World Championship of the World. Maswick skied two incredibly fast laps of the Ladies’ 5, and picked the Steelers to win 31-24, thus earning 2:55 in bonust time!
Surprisingly, defending Champion, Mike Wynn, chose not to defend his title, instead resting up for the big Old Forge race. Likewise, Superbowl veterans Ed Lis and Joe Korzenecki eschewed competing (or at least sending in their times) for masochistic punishment involving joint compound and Big Rock loop. Early favorite, Chris Rose, was waaaay off on his prediction. And Jim Kobak, who had a great call on the outcome of the game, could not combine his first 25 k of Craftsbury and his 15 k Old Forge time to get anywhere close to Maswick’s twin 5 k laps.
