No.. Brian Delaney and his staff at High Peaks Cyclery: Nordic Specialists were not assaulted.
Rather, Peru Nordic’s Jim Kobak once again teamed up with Patch Sprint World Champion and friend/rival, Jason Fiegl for a winter ascent of Nippletop and Dial Mts. Fiegl, looking to add the winter 46 to his climbing resume, called two-time winter 46er Kobak for a fun outing in the High Peaks.
Kobak and Fiegl were met with cold temperatures (-11F ) and incredibly deep and drifted snow as they fought their way up Nippletop Mt. Then they descended down an equally challenging ridge through more deep and drifted snow to Dial Mt. The snow was deep and drifted. In fact it was incredibly deep and drifted making for some challenging trail-breaking. It was deep and drifted snow.
Nevertheless, the pair perservered and some good winter peakbagging was obtained. Kobak looks at this trek as a “great way to get ready for the Craftsbury Marathon.”
