Peru Nordic Opens with a Bang

Members of the Peru Nordic Masters, some only on snow for the second time this season, came to play on Sunday December 14th.   Peru Nordic served notice to NYSSRA rivals by racking up some good early season points.

Janet Findlay won the overal Masters women title.  Mike Wynn and Jim Kobak finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Masters men field.  Wynn and Ed Lis finished 1-2 in the M3 category, while Chris Rose finished behind Kobak to capture silver in the M2 class.

Joe Korzenecki and Bob Maswick topped the M5s, and are looking forward to having Doug Diehl join them in that category.  Dave Hunter battled Southern Adirondack’s Dave Burt for silver in the M6 division.  David Kvam finished third in the Senior Men category while new recruit,  John Santor,  finished just off the podium.  A good time was had by most.

Look for some intrepid members of Peru Nordic to make the trip down to Lapland Lake for the Reindeer Roundup.  Also, stay tuned for the opening of the Viking Helmet Championship Series at MitcHELLbeiner Skistadion.
